How Techpopop.net had started and continued
I was dreaming of having a website that day July 11, 2011, after learning about the story of Yugatech.com, it was a successful technology blog manage by its founder Abe Olandres. But before that, I had attended a seminar workshop about IT at Luciano Millan in Asingan, Pangasinan. Part of the seminar is an idea about blogging, I became curios, I started exploring blogger.com after that and created my account, also I published my first blog about leadership, not in this website. I created 10 blogs under blogger, to see if which blog will be searched and read or attract more traffic. Then I run out of topic to maintain those blogs, so I decided to maintain single or two blogs. Then I started this, the first name was secondary-curricullum.blogspot.com, then change it to depedkto12 when I observed that a lot of my topic was about elementary and secondary education. But one or two years later, came depedtambayan that became so popular that it is so hard to compete to them. As it gets more traffic, we received offers to buy this blog, I rejected the offer, and decided to improve it. In later part of 2019, I acquired the domain name techpopop.com from domain.com, but I was not satisfied with the service so when Google domains was became available in Philippines, I acquired again another domain name, now techpopop.net.
The Risk, Struggle, Failures
It was not so easy to maintain and continue my blog and website, I have done a lot of trials that resulted into failures, I often change the theme, font, and colors, that I thought would attract not only viewers but readers, but still failed again and again. I don't give up, and still can't figure out what will be happening to this blog, believing in myself that it would be fine and just keep on adding and publishing articles. For days, weeks, months, and years, I spend a lot of hours in front of computer, after school hours, I stayed alone at school computer room until 8 pm, I read a lot of article about blogging, tried their recommendations that is not suited for my situation, I applied for credit card and used it to purchase my blogging requirements. I applied for AdSense, but to my excitement of earning, I let others click my ads, then it was removed, I appealed for re-instatement for several times for years but it was never considered. I shared the burden to my eldest son when he quitted from his first job after his graduation, he added a lot of articles day and night, we bought a template, the one that we are using now, but he quitted after I have decided to buy a domain name and change it. But I was decided and firm in my plan, whatever it takes I'll go with it, the views went down from 4k-5k views daily to 1k views, my son warn me about that before changing it but I insisted. Aside from website or blog, I have also YouTube channel, I started last December 2007, I have uploaded more than one hundred videos, but have less than a thousand subscribers and few views, because the videos that was uploaded are our activities in school, my students are the one watching only.
